On behalf of the Proctorsville Fire Department I would like to thank everyone who attended the 175th anniversary celebration. Departments that participated in the parade were Ludlow American Legion, as the color guard, local, town and State politicians, Ludlow Ambulance, Vermont State Police, Ludlow Fire Dept, Cavendish Fire Dept, West Weathersfield Fire Dept, Weston Fire Dept, Chester Fire Dept, Rutland Town Fire Dept, Wallingford Fire Dept, Mt Holly Fire Dept, Reading Fire Dept, West Windsor Fire Dept, and Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Dept from Long Island, NY.
The Rebekah Lodge provided food and drink. Music was provided by Brent Buswell. The Cavendish Baptists church did a bake sale, and the Catholic Church did a craft sale. Vermont Division of Fire Safety brought the fire safety trailer. The Windsor County Sheriffs Department brought a rollover simulator. Sandy Peplau did child seat inspections. Ludlow Fire did a ladder truck demonstration, and Ludlow Ambulance did blood pressure checks and gave tours of their ambulances.
I would also like to thank all of the various towns’ people who came out to show their support for the fire department. I would like to give a special thank you to Margo Caulfield for all of the work that she put in to help make this event happen. You all helped to make this a very successful event, and for that we thank you.
