Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers Needed!We are forming a Public Outreach Committee for the Weathersfield Proctor Library and need volunteer members! There will be several tasks available, such as:
· Creating flyers that promote programs and services
· Distributing flyers by hand and by mail
· Creating FaceBook events
· Updating our webpage with news and events
· Submitting programs to local newspaper event calendars
· Checking other local libraries’ upcoming events to make sure we do not have programs at the same time or on the same subject
· Visiting local organizations to explain what services the library provides
· Finding local groups and organizations that would like to work with the library to provide services and programs
· Finding local people that would like to present a program for the library to share their knowledge, skills, or experience with the community
You may volunteer for one or multiple tasks. Thanks!
We also have an ongoing need for volunteers in other areas as well:
· Circulation desk (check books/materials in and out)
· Shelving books & materials
· Shelf reading (to make sure books/materials are in proper place)
· Library coverage for when the librarian is sick, away, or at a meeting
o (duties include opening and closing library, running circulation desk, shelving books, and occasional computer assistance)
· Interlibrary Loan Assistant (delete records from computer system, package books and mail to loaning library)
· Programming Assistant (brainstorming program ideas, helping to organize events, being present at events to help with set-up and clean-up, supervise children, and occasionally run events solo)
