WiT meets the lambs
Story by Julia Lloyd Wright Photo by Don Clark, Eagle Times

"Betty Berlenbach took a couple of her of bottle-fed lambs to meet Weathersfield senior citizens following a recent pot luck lunch held at the Ascutney Fire Station.
Berlenbach raises both Jacob sheep and Shetlands. A hand-spinner, Berlenbach uses the fleece for knitting gloves and hats which she sells at the Cornish Farmer's Market.
She also sells the colored wool for spinners and knitters."
The 'spotted' Jacob wool is popular for people who want natural colors - the fleece ranges from white to beige through shades of brown and even black. Spun together it resembles tweed."
